Delicious Date Shake

Sara Spector

Ah, summer. The warm weather brings us days in the pool, road trips and sweet treats. My childhood memories are filled with trips to the ice cream shop, popsicles and so many fruit pies! Flash-forward a few years and while I still love the sweet treats of summer, I don't love the sugar that comes with it. Enter...the Date Shake! I found this recipie out of the Eat Like You Give A Fork book by Mareya Ibrahim (HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK!) This is creamy, delicious and is the perfect sweet-swap for a summer treat!

Ingredients:

1 1/2 c almond milk

1 c almonds

1/2 frozen banana*

6 pitted dates

1 tsp cinnamon

1/2 tsp vanilla extract

1/2 c ice

A few drops of liquid monkfruit or liquid stevia to taste (I did not need this but you might)

Directions:

In a high-speed blender, combine all ingredients and blend until smooth. Pour into an adorable class and sprinkle with a tad more cinnamon. Add a straw and enjoy! Serves 4

*You can leave the banana peel on for a vitamin boost!
